Did you know that the first Avon Representative, P.F.E. Albee, was 50 when she started her career as a saleswoman for the company’s perfumes in 1886? Today, there are an estimated 420,000 Avon Representatives in the United States and they have gone a long way over the years. Viola Morse, an Avon representative from the 1950s to the 1960s did not own a car for the first two years of her direct sales job. Instead, she chose to walk 3 to 4 miles to visit customers. Even in harsh New England winters she did not give up.
